Privacy
We collect nothing personal.
No accounts, no tracking, no adverts. This page says exactly what the site keeps, where, and why.
Last updated 10 October 2026.
The short version
- There are no accounts, sign-ups or newsletters.
- There are no tracking or analytics cookies, and no advertising or social-media scripts.
- Fonts, search and every page are served from this site. Search runs on your device; nothing you type is sent anywhere.
- A few display preferences are saved in your own browser, never sent to us.
- If you flag a data issue, you choose to send it, and you choose how.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. thefixture is an independent, unofficial project built by one person; it is not affiliated with the AFL or any club. The site is a set of static pages. It does not ask for your name, email or location, and it does not build a profile of you.
We do not use analytics today. If we add visitor counts, the tool will use no cookies and store no personal information. This page will name it and explain what it records.
What stays on your device
The site uses your browser's local storage, not cookies, to remember a few choices you make. They stay on this device and this browser. These four choices are never sent to us or to anyone else.
- Theme
- Light or dark, if you pick one instead of following your system.
- Times
- Whether start times show in the ground's local time, your own time zone, or Melbourne time (Australian Eastern Standard Time or Australian Eastern Daylight Time).
- My club
- The club you choose to follow, so pages can highlight its games.
- Round view
- Whether round pages show the Summary or Cards layout, the last time you picked one.
To clear them, use the same control to unset the choice, or clear this site's data in your browser settings. In a private window they are forgotten when the window closes. Downloaded calendar files (.ics) stay with you. If you subscribe, your calendar app fetches the file from this site.
Flagging an issue
Every data point has a “Flag an issue” link. It opens a report prefilled with what you were looking at: the version, the match or rule, the field and the value shown. Nothing is sent until you send it yourself.
You can email your report to flags@thefixture.com.au instead. Email reports are not published.
Adding an email address to a report is optional. We use it only to follow up on your report, ask about a source or share what we found. We do not add it to a mailing list, share it or use it for anything else.
A flag is a report for a person to check, never a fact. Nothing a visitor submits changes the fixture shown on the site.
Server logs
The server may log your request’s address, the page requested and the time. These logs help keep the site running and secure. They are not combined with other records. We aim to keep them for about 14 days.
